Pro: small set but you can get the King minifig and the throne itself is quite nice.
Cons: if you have a little more money I would rather go to the Throne set which is similar and better. |
6236 King Kahuka (1994)Despite the name of the set this is the throne of the spiritual priest of the Islanders: the islanders are very religious people, they believe in the spirits of nature and therefore the priest is an important figure in their community. The throne of the priest is not so big (compared to the one of the king) but many people go in front of him in order to get answer to their questions and predictions about the future. It is a typical throne of the islanders with the lances and the shields of the warrior and the priest has his mask (identifying the leaders of the community) and a staff with a gem on the top which is considered to be magic. Under the throne there is an hidden chest with more gems which are used to easily predict the future. Main Characters Natuva: is the spiritual priest of the Islanders and is considered the second most important figure in the community. Differently from King Kahuka he was born in the Enchanted Island and someone believe that he’s not a human being but an incarnation of a spirit of the island. His name in the local language means “Voice of the Nature” and people believe that he’s able to speak with animals and to advise the king basing his suggestions on the signs of the nature and on the language of the land. |

Pro: it is the only prison set of the Islanders
Cons: buy it only if you are a collector. The prison is poorly built and you can get better sets for the same price. |
6246 Crocodile Cage (1994)This is the typical prison of the Islanders. Built within the forest of the Enchanted Island this prison has the bars made by lances and is well hidden within the trees. It is guarded by a soldier (typically armed with lance and cape without helm) and it was used sometimes to kept, especially in the first years, some pirates who tried to rob the Islanders treasures. The cage is also guarded by a crocodile: crocodiles are considered sacred animals by the Islanders and their spiritual priest, for example, is able to talk to them. Anyway they are often used, as in this case, like pets and guard animals. Main Characters n/a |

Pro: it is a particular boat and it has some beautiful details such as the decorations and the two parrots in the front. Also the pictured sail is nice
Cons: the catamaran base is made by two simple canoes. It is a quite fragile set. |
6256 Islander Catamaran (1994)Islanders do not have boats or vessels and also they prefer to sail into the river of the Enchanted Island rather than in open sea. That’s why the typical water mean of transport was not a vessel but a catamaran, which is more manageable in the water of a river. The Islander Catamaran is composed by two islander canoes (the other typical mean of transport of the island) linked together and has also a small sail to enhance the speed and to get directions. It is, like everything on the Enchanted Island, very colourful and decorated with tribal designs. It is commanded by a chief (recognisable by his mask) and a sailor and is also equipped with some weapons (basically lances and capes). It has on the front two small statues of parrots, which are considered the spirits of water, and some white horns in the sides. Main Characters n/a |

Pro: the throne is well built and the statue is beautiful. You can get also the king minifig and the hidden treasure.
Cons: the litter is poorly built. |
6262 King Kahuka's Throne (1994)The throne of the king is located just in the centre of the island near the palace. It is a huge throne and in the back it has a big statue of the Volcano’s God (the Enchanted Island is a volcano island) which is considered the main god of the islanders and also the protector of the king. Inside the statue it his hidden also the king’s treasure and nobody real knows what exactly is inside because only the king himself has access to it. It is guarded by the two private armed guards of the kind and of course by a giant crocodile. On the two sides of the throne there are the sacred fire (always burning) and a chair where the spiritual priest uses to seat when the king needs his council. The throne itself isn’t really a throne but is really a litter and during the feasts or the official celebrations it his transported all over the island with the king on. Main Characters King Kahuka: he is probably the most mysterious person in the empire. What is sure is that he was not born on the Enchanted island, that he is well educated, that he knows a lot about the pirates and imperials history and that he personally knows the mysterious prisoner of the English Army as well as Emperor Stronghold. The rest is well hidden in shadows... Legends say that he was one a pirate that arrived many years before on the Enchanted island on a raft and then showed to the Islanders the “power of magic” and nominated himself the king of the island. He has this staff with two gems on top (one red and one blue) which symbolize the power of the water and of the land linked together and it is considered to be the source of his power. King Kahuka doesn’t speak very much (although he is able to speak many languages) and that increases his magical aura. Anyway he is venerated by his people like a god, they trust him and they will follow him even to death. |

Pro: the front panel with the stone head is beautiful Cons: it is very similar to the Skull Island of the pirates, which I would go for. |
6264 Forbidden Cove (1994)The forbidden cove is located on an island not too far from the Enchanted Island and it is basically a secret location to hide treasures or valuable things. At the beginning the exact position of the cove was unknown but later it was discovered by the pirates and therefore King Kahuka decided to put two guards and a crocodile and to build kind of a tower on top of the secret cave where the treasures are build. There is an automatic mechanism to open the front panel of the cave and there is enough space to hide there even a small boat. Main Characters n/a |
Collection Rating 7 out of 10
Pro: it is the biggest set of the Islanders. I liked the painted base with the river and also the statue with the hidden secret place. You get a lot of minifigs.
Cons: despite the size of the set, the buildings are very little and without too much attention to the details. |
6278 Enchanted Island (1994)The is the palace of the King and the main village of the island at the same time. It is build all around the Enchanted river (the main river of the island) and on top of small rocks in order to be protected in case of attack. On the left part there are the apartments of the King which have been built within the jungle trees and are guarded by soldiers. There is also an open space in which the King could have private dinners. This section is linked by a bridge over the river to the right part in which there is a guarded watch tower. Within the rocks under the King’s apartments there is a secret hidden cave to collect treasures. The right part of the palace is on plain grass and basically is dominated by a giant statue of the Volcano God: this statue contains also a hidden place (that could be opened only in special occasions by the King or the Spiritual Priest) which should contain the mortal rests of the Volcano King itself. Main Characters Ratikan: he is the private counsellor of the King and the head of the guards of the King’s palace. Ratikan was born on the Enchanted Island and he’s considered the real link and interpreter between the King and his people. On the other hand he has no real power (except for the protection of the King) and for every matter he is more like the spokesman of the King. |
