Collection Rating 8 out 10Pro: very particular fortress with some interesting features such as the secret passages and the dragon head. I loved also the decorations on some walls and the top roof of the wizard tower.
Cons: the cave in which the dragon is kept and also the gate are quite poorly built. |
6082 Fire Breathing Fortress (1993)This fortress is located in the middle of the mountains of the kingdom and is not a typical knight fortress. First of all it has not a drawbridge but only a wooden door at the end of a ramp in the mountains; instead of the drawbridge the protection is assured by a giant dragon head which fires on the enemies. Secondly it doesn’t have many towers but only a small tower with a conic red roof which is the wizard home; this tower has also a balcony from which the wizard can launch the spells. At the bottom of the tower there is a huge space in which all the guards stand and use defend the fortress from the enemies. Last but not least there are secret doors and holes but the main cave is not dedicated to store treasures but is instead the place where a green dragon is kept; it is equipped also with a big gate from which the dragon is released and can attack the enemies (the Dragon Master hare dragon trainers and the knights and the wizards as well are able to talk with dragons and train them).
Knights Saphirus: he’s the most powerful wizard of the kingdom and the leader of the Dragon Masters (the do not have a king and recognise him as their lord). He possesses unlimited knowledge of even the most ancient spells and he has also a magical ball in which he could see some events from the past of the future. Many tell that he is a dark wizard: he possesses also many dark spells but really he’s convinced that magic is a powerful gift given to special people and that the related power should be used wisely. Her Draco Maior: he’s the first knight of the kingdom. He’s equipped with the shield and the black helm with yellow plumes and rides a brown horse with a dragon cap. His rank could be evinced from the dragon mantle he wears and he’s able to fight not only with sword and lance but also with the typical dragon giant axe. He comes from a noble family and he’s very aristocratic in moods and way of living. His brother is Lord Draconis but he doesn’t recognise him any more since he passed at the service of King Leonidas. |

Pro: nice set with a wizard and a spelling book. Useful to start the Dragon Master collection.
Cons: small set and you won’t get any knight or soldier. |
6020 Magic Shop (1993)In the Northern part of the East there is the island where the young wizards are sent to complete their training path. Every young wizard will stay there all alone for one year and will learn to perform the spells and to live without any other protection: there will be opportunity to learn how to defend himself from the wild animals of the island and how to provide food and water. There is only one small cave within a tree (lighted by two torches) which is used to sleep and to store all the magical instruments and potions. The only friend of every young wizard is his own trained falcon.
Knights Tamirus: he’s a very talented young wizard who is completing his training in the island. Accordingly to Saphirus he’s one of the best wizards he ever trained but he’s still young and has still to learn the more complex spells. |

Pro: the catapult is well built and the dragon head is nice. You can get also many weapons.
Cons: I would have appreciated another minifig, maybe a knight with a horse. |
6043 Dragon Defender (1993)Even the Dragon Master used traditional weapons to fight their battles and this is an example of a typical dragon catapult. Of course it is a double armed catapult but it is equipped also with a dragon head in the front which is able to throw fire flames to burn the enemies. The catapult is decorated with the Dragon Master’s flags and is under the responsibility of a master soldier (usually a future knight who is completing his training). The catapult is equipped also with many weapons like swords, shields and a big axe.

Pro: very nice set with both a wizard and a soldier. The interior with the small fire is nice too.
Cons: very similar to the hideout of the Forestmen (set 6054) which is more valuable in time. |
6048 Maijisto's Magical Workshop (1993)In the heart of the magic forest there is the school of wizardry of the kingdom: the young wizards come here to train before going to the island to complete their path and became officially wizard. The building is constructed from an old giant tree and his recognisable from the outside only from its red roof. There is also a small window in the middle and its entrance is secret and you can open it only with magic. In the interior we can find the training rooms with spell books, potions and of course in the base part a fire with the dining room. In addition to the wizard teacher and its falcon there is also a soldier teacher because also fighting is part of the basic training for wizards.
Knights Celarius: he is the teacher of the school and the oldest wizard in the kingdom. Very good friend with Saphirus he dedicated all his life in training other wizards because his strongest fear is that the art of wizardry would be lost or go into the wrong hands. |

Pro: you can get a dragon and a knight with this set and even two horses.
Cons: the cage is quite poorly built, especially the parts for closing the gate. |
6056 Dragon Wagon (1993)This wagon is used by the Dragon Master to carry the dragons to their fortresses. Dragons run freely into the southern part of the territory and they have to be captured and trained before becoming powerful allies. So this chariot is built with a strong cage (it can be totally opened to free the dragon) in order to kept the dragon safe until reaching the destination. It is trained by two horses (with dragon caps) and there is a soldier in charge of it. In addition there is a Dragon Knight who escorts the dragon and protects him from the enemies.
Knights Her Demetor: he is the knight in charge of the wagon and he’s very skilled in fighting with the giant dragon axe. He prefers to fight on ground (due to his enormous strengths) but in the wagon there is also a saddle to let him ride a horse. He wear a black helm with yellow plumes and has a dragon mantle. |

Pro: good set to start playing with the dragon master because it has knights, wizards and a dragon.
Cons: is not totally very well built, without too much attention to details. |
6076 Dragon's Den (1993)This is the second fortress of the kingdom and is located in the southern near the Dragon River and the Fire Lake. He is a small fortress with an hidden cavern and a double sided gate in which a trained dragon is kept. It is used to keep the most valuable treasures of the kingdom, especially in the other part of the cage excavated under the rock of the mountains. On the very top of the den (reachable by stairs) there is the tower with the red roof from which the wizard can launch the spells. The den is hidden within the rocks and the trees and is recognisable only by the dragon flag on the top and by a red dragon cap over the entrance of the dragon’s cage. The den is protected by a wizard, two knights and a guard with crossbow.
Knights Tenebrius: he is the wizard lord of the den and, among all the wizards, is the one of is most fond of the obscure arts. Basically he’s a dark wizard and he does not hesitate in using his magic power to get other power and kill people or destroy enemies. On the other side he respects Saphirus and knows that he’s a stronger wizard and therefore he follows his indications and rules.. waiting for his moment to get the power of the kingdom. Her Torwald: he is the first knight of Tenebrius and one of the most dreadful knights in the east. Cruel like his master and always in search of power and destruction. He rides a black horse with a black helm and red plumes and he’s skilled in using almost all the weapons but prefers the dragons to kill the enemies. Her Gunitor: he is the second knight and rides a brown horse wearing a black helm with red plumes. Like the other knight wears the dragon mantle but does not have the privilege of carrying the dragon flag with him. He’s not as cruel as but he has a very subtle mind inclined to deception and betrayal. |
