Collection Rating 7 out of 10
Pro: it is the only vessel set for the Imperial Armada and the minifigs are beautiful (especially the captain).
Cons: not a too big vessel but also without too much attention to the details. I would rather go for other vessels unless you are a collector. |
6280 Armada Flagship (1995)In 1995 the war between pirates and imperials was already ended and trading was the only business that mattered in the Federation. In this scenario the imperial island of Sapin, which had always been in the shadows during the war years, wanted to be representative into the Federation politics and commerce. Therefore they build a vessel in order to be play an active role into the imperial flew. The Armada Flagship has on its sails the typical colours and flags of the army of the island of Sapin, the so called Imperial Armada. A part from the colours (also the green of a part of the hull) it has some new interesting features: the main sail are linked with the front yard and can be regulated directly from there. Moreover, to be quicker and lighter, it has only one cannon but rotating and two small fixed mini cannons directly in the back. It is equipped with a precision compass as well with a central big nest to hold even heavy treasures. It is finally very easy to be manoeuvred and therefore the crew is composed by only the Captain (with the typical armour and helm of Sapin) and two battle sailors (one dedicated to the sails and the other to the cannon). Main Characters Captain Ponce de Leon: born and grew in Sapin Ponce is an aristocratic man from one of the richest families in the island. He has a huge experience in sailing rather than in war strategies and therefore he needed war skilled members for his crew; he’s well known as a proud man not keen at all in admitting his faults and in accepting other’s opinions. And of course he never easily accepted Woodhouse’s or Broadside’s orders and preferred to act in his own way (which sometimes caused problems to the Imperials). He was secretly in love with Broadside’s daughter but was never loved back by her and that increased his frustration and deep anger against the soldiers and the guards. |
